One great thing about the Lionel Trains Polar Express Train Set (O Gauge) is that when the creators behind this
product said that it is suitable for kids 8 and up, they meant way WAY up. This Locomotive, well crafted and
beautifully designed, also gets the attention of teens and adults alike - Polar Express fan or not.
It’s just so darn pretty. The obvious attention to detail makes this train set stand out from the
rest. From the die cast metal body, to the lighted coach cars, to the steam engine that actually puffs smoke,
even just watching it run around it’s oval track is already a teat. Setting up is fun and easy, but younger
kids may need adult supervision.
However, just like all Lionel Trains, learning how to run the Polar Express does take a little time, especially
for first timers. But doesn’t having a little challenge add to the fun, not to mention the pride your child
will have once he actually gets the hang of it?
Basically, to give you a clear idea, here are all of the pieces that come with this train set. You will get 1
steam engine, 1 coal tender, 1 observation car, 2 passenger cars, Santa’ Bell, and 4 little figures based on the
characters from the book and movie. They are all fully articulated.
The package also come with 1 CW-80 transformer, 1 bottle of smoke fluid- this is to make the steam, and of
course a 40 x 60 inch oval track- this consists of 8 curved pieces, 3 straight ones, and a power terminal
section. Aside from all of that, there is also an instruction booklet to guide you through the set up and the
operation.
This is an O gauge or O scale train set so if you already have trains or sets in this scale, you will be able to
add it to your existing rolling stock. Even if you don't have any other toy train gear, this set is stand
alone and is a great way to introduce a child to the joys of a working model train set. It is sure to
make a great Christmas toy for kids that have an interest in models or even if they liked the movie The Polar
Express that came out a few years ago.

True that it may be more expensive than other train sets, but based on the craftsmanship and the quality, you’ll
